Alec Johnson, AIA – Secretary

Alec Johnson, AIA
Alec Johnson, AIA

Mr. Johnson is a California-licensed architect and Principal of Alec Johnson Architecture. In addition, he is a full-time faculty member in the Design Department (Interior Architecture) at California State University, Long Beach.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) and studied at the Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst Wien, Austria (University of Applied Arts Vienna), under the renowned architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.

His experience ranges from complex medical centers and educational facilities to commercial interiors and custom residential projects. He was part of the architectural team that renovated the Getty Villa in Malibu, California, and the Greek Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Alec co-authored the book Building Code Quick Reference Guide: A Schematic Building Design Timesaver. He is the recipient of the American Institute of Architects Long Beach/South Bay Chapter Distinguished Service Award.
