Practice Series: Risks & Liabilities Case Study Workshop
May 20, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
1.5 AIA LUs
Participants will be provided with a contract and project fact pattern which results in claims against a design professional. Interactive session will allow participants to identify early issues on a project that develop into claims and how to effectively avoid potential pitfalls.
Attend this interactive, virtual Case Study Workshop in which participants will identify potential risks and liabilities which were encountered on a real life project. The Case Study establishes a set of background facts which presented a unique range of options for the hypothetical architectural firm to address. Participants in the workshop will work together to identify risk factors and determine actions that could have been taken to avoid or minimize the problems which emerged following completion of the project. The Case Study Workshop will provide the following learning objectives:
- Develop an understanding of key contractual provisions regularly encountered by design professionals and their potential effect on the execution of the project and liability exposure.
- Identification of potential risk factors and liabilities which can be encountered on a construction project.
- Discover key mitigation efforts which can eliminate or reduce potential liabilities when performing construction administration.
- Learn the crucial steps to properly responding to claims.
The presentation will be administered by Ryan Palumbo, Esq. of Collins Collins Muir + Stewart, LLP.
