Description:
This program provides an in-depth look at the California Coastal Commission’s purpose, history, and role in protecting California’s iconic coastal resources. Attendees will gain practical insights into navigating the Coastal Commission’s review process, understanding when Commission oversight applies, and learning how the Commission collaborates with cities, homeowners, and architects to ensure compliance with coastal development policies. Special attention will be given to the impact of Executive Orders, including the current exemption of Commission review for fire rebuilds, and how these provisions may influence rebuilding and development scenarios.
