The REDI Speaker Series aims to improve our practice and make it more inclusive by creating a spotlight for those who are traditionally underrepresented in our field.

Program description:

This program will cover the differences between Heritage Conservation and Historic Preservation, Placemaking and Placekeeping. We will also learn about Heritage Conservation as a career path.

Learning objectives:

  • Attendees will learn about the relationship between Heritage Conservation and LA wildfires, including challenges and strategies for preservation.
  • Attendees will learn how personal stories and experiences shape career paths in Heritage Conservation.
  • Attendees will learn the differences between Heritage Conservation and Historic Preservation and understand the significance of these practices.
  • Attendees will learn how historic and contemporary communities influence the design process and solutions through Placemaking and Placekeeping.
