The REDI Speaker Series aims to improve our practice and make it more inclusive by creating a spotlight for those who are traditionally underrepresented in our field.

Program description

This program will cover the differences between Heritage Conservation and Historic Preservation, Placemaking and Placekeeping. We will also learn about Heritage Conservation as a career path.

Learning objectives

Attendees will learn about the relationship between Heritage Conservation and LA wildfires, including challenges and strategies for preservation.
Attendees will learn how personal stories and experiences shape career paths in Heritage Conservation.
Attendees will learn the differences between Heritage Conservation and Historic Preservation and understand the significance of these practices.
Attendees will learn how historic and contemporary communities influence the design process and solutions through Placemaking and Placekeeping.
