SB 9 – Understanding the Design and Financial Implications of the California HOME Act

California’s Senate Bill 9 went into effect on January 1, 2022, mandating that governing jurisdictions cannot stop R1 properties from becoming multi-family. This program will explore what is allowed to be designed under this new law, and the financial impacts and opportunities created by maximizing a site.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will learn about SB 9 and how it impacts existing residential construction
- Attendees will learn how to redesign an existing site to qualify for SB 9 construction
- Attendees will learn by utilizing SB 9 on new projects how a site can be effectively designed
- Attendees will learn about financial costs and incentives to consider an SB 9 designed project
