SUMMARY:COTE Presents: Energy Code Compliance Forms - A Goldmine of Design Insights
DESCRIPTION:AIA Long Beach / South Bay & Southern California Edison\, a Collaborative Partnership \n\n\n\n\n\n1.0 AIA LU/HSW + 1.0 ZNCD \n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite\n\nBuy Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZOOM LOG-IN WILL BE EMAILED ONE DAY IN ADVANCE OF THE WEBINAR \n\n\n\nDescription: \n\n\n\nIs complying with the Energy Code just another chore? It doesn’t have to be! Gain valuable insight into your projects\, collaborate with your team\, AND build buildings that lower energy use and operational carbon. See how to transform energy code compliance from a tedious task into a strategic advantage for your architectural practice. \n\n\n\nLearning objectives: \n\n\n\n\nDetermine Energy Code requirements based on project scope of work.   \n\n\n\nIdentify the various compliance pathways available and determine which option is most appropriate for the project.   \n\n\n\nVerify that design documents align with the chosen compliance pathway by utilizing the Certificate of Compliance as a comprehensive checklist.   \n\n\n\nEmploy the performance approach to offer guidance on measuring energy usage and operational carbon of the proposed building design. \n\n\n\n\nSpeaker: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGina Rodda is currently the Owner of Gabel Energy out of Castro Valley\, California\, and has been in the energy modeling field since 1991. She is an energy analyst performing a wide range of responsibilities in both residential and nonresidential construction pertaining to compliance standards and energy modeling within the United States\, while specializing in California Building Code. California local ordinances (or Reach codes) supporting electrification and electric preferred for multifamily\, hotel/motel and nonresidential buildings dictates much of the work Gabel Energy provides in Northern California in which Gabel Energy has been an active leader in heat pump mechanical equipment design choices as supported by the Energy Code and compliance software modeling. \n\n\n\nGina has worked with Energy Code Ace as a subject matter expert developing and supporting trainings\, resources and tools on the Residential and Nonresidential Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards for building department staff\, energy consultants\, engineers\, contractors and architects. Gina also works as a respected subject matter expert informing the statewide code development process since the 2013 Building Code cycle. \n\n\n\nGina’s Certifications: \n\n\n\n\nResidential and Nonresidential Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) via CABEC\n\n\n\nLEED Accredited Professional (AP) via USGBC\n\n\n\nEducation: Bachelor of Arts from University of the Pacific (UOP) graduated 1989
