Since its founding over 30 years ago\, Grant has been the visionary force behind KAA Design Group and he and his team strive every day to elevate the human spirit through the benefits and authenticity of warm contemporary residential design. Learn more about Grant and his firm\, KAA Design Group. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDean Nota\, FAIA\n\n\n\nBorn\, raised and educated in Southern California\, Dean Nota received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI ARC) in 1976\, where he was a founding student and a member of the first graduating class. He interned\, and over a period of ten years\, rose to the position of senior associate architect in the internationally acclaimed office of Raymond Kappe FAIA\, prior to opening his own office in Los Angeles in 1982. DESCRIPTION:AIA Long Beach / South Bay & Southern California Edison\, a Collaborative Partnership \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy Tickets on Eventbrite\n\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1.0 LU/HSW \n\n\n\nPresented on Zoom \n\n\n\nThis hour-long Code Breaker focuses on requirements in California’s 2022 Single-family Energy Code (Title 24\, Part 6) for indoor and outdoor lighting luminaires and controls. We will also review resources available from the industry supporting Single-family lighting design and installation. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives: \n\n\n\n\nRecognize that Energy Code Mandatory Measures require use of only “high-efficacy” lighting and address two types of lighting sources that would qualify (lighting that is automatically high efficacy and lighting certified and marked as high efficacy per JA8).\n\n\n\nIdentify Mandatory Measures for lighting controls by location.\n\n\n\nIdentify specific lighting technologies that meet the 2022 high-efficacy requirements including JA8 certified products.\n\n\n\nIdentify available lighting resources and interactive tools on Energy Code Ace\, California Energy Commission\, and other industry resources.\n\n\n\n\nPresenter: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGina Rodda is currently the Owner of Gabel Energy out of Castro Valley\, California\, and has been in the energy modeling field since 1991. She is an energy analyst performing a wide range of responsibilities in both residential and nonresidential construction pertaining to compliance standards and energy modeling within the United States\, while specializing in California Building Code. California local ordinances (or Reach codes) supporting electrification and electric preferred for multifamily\, hotel/motel and nonresidential buildings dictates much of the work Gabel Energy provides in Northern California in which Gabel Energy has been an active leader in heat pump mechanical equipment design choices as supported by the Energy Code and compliance software modeling. \n\n\n\nGina has worked with Energy Code Ace as a subject matter expert developing and supporting trainings\, resources and tools on the Residential and Nonresidential Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards for building department staff\, energy consultants\, engineers\, contractors and architects. \n\n\n\nGina also works as a respected subject matter expert informing the statewide code development process since the 2013 Building Code cycle. \n\n\n\nGina’s Certifications: \n\n\n\n\nResidential and Nonresidential Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) via CABEC\n\n\n\nLEED Accredited Professional (AP) via USGBC\n\n\n\nEducation: Bachelor of Arts from University of the Pacific (UOP) graduated 1989
