
In honor or Women’s History month, we would like to spotlight a member who already making a great impact to our chapter and our community! Alina Tompert joined AIA Long Beach South Bay in 2019 and she has brought an incredible passion for sustainability and community building. As a Job Captain at Studio One Eleven, Alina is an energetic champion for sustainability and equity in addition to being a dedicated and trusted team member. Beyond the great contributions she makes with her firm, Alina co-chairs the chapters Committee On The Environment (COTE) and would love to welcome any interested members in joining that group’s efforts.
Alina is also a talented baker and during the Covid -19 pandemic she has prepared and donated food to unhoused and low-income folks in Long Beach in partnership with a few different local groups. She has donated everything from cookies to muffins to whole banana bread loaves. Ingredients are funded through donations from the community, and Alina donates her time as baker. Her bakery has also made a profit sharing pledge, donating 20% of annual profits to East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, helping local grassroots leaders through grants and organizational support.
