Jury comments:

A nod to early California Modernism, this house embraces outdoor spaces as an extension of the interior with thoughtful detailing and beautiful shading devices, making these exterior “rooms” habitable. Throughout the house there is a relationship to the landscape through views, both far and near.

Jury comments:

A subtle and peaceful piece of architecture in a dense and busy urban environment. Sensitive massing that pulls away from both the adjacent buildings and street front. The minimalist interiors have a pleasant simplicity, generous use of natural light, and a celebrated connection to the exterior. An integrated ground level ADU provides additional complexity and is exemplary in demonstrating responsible urban development.

Jury comments:

A well-composed massing that cleverly negotiates the site’s topographic condition to produce strong sectional qualities and a multiplicity of distinct spaces. Ocean views are celebrated with minimalist restraint, most notably from the main living room and rooftop lounge.
