Casey Chapin, AIA, LEED AP BD+C has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2021 and is the 2026 President of our chapter. He has formerly served as co-chair of the Advocacy Committee, chair of the EDI Committee, and Board Secretary. Casey grew up in Costa Mesa, where an early interest in art and skateboarding ultimately grew into a love of the built environment and design. After graduating from the U.C. Berkeley College of Environmental Design with a degree in architecture, he worked on a number of small-scale design projects in the skate and surf industries with friends. Casey worked as a Project Designer at LPA Design Studios in Irvine from 2007-2026, where he contributed to a number of large scale education, commercial, civic and healthcare projects. He recently started his own design practice and is an adjunct faculty member of the Cal State Long Beach Interior Architecture Program. Casey is passionate about design and believes in the power of architecture to uplift communities and create meaningful social change. He has lived in Long Beach with his wife, Sara and their two small dogs, Tuey and Ruth since 2012.
