ACE Pathway Coordinator – Call for Volunteers

The ACE (Advanced Manufacturing, Construction and Engineering) Pathway at Jordan High School in Long Beach is looking for industry professionals that can share their real-world experiences to 9th -1 2th grade students via Virtual Chats. Students are always more engaged and intrigued in the industry when they meet someone who looks like them and is currently in that role and enjoy learning/seeing what they actually do in their role. Students want to hear how these professionals were in high school and in/after college – what they had to go through to become who they are. Did they always know that they were going into this field if not how did they arrive at this decision? Hearing stories of how successful professionals have overcome personal obstacles when they were younger and how they persevered is always inspiring to students. Lastly, advice and tips that can be shared is always welcome and makes it more attainable to them.

The time commitment would entail speaking virtually to a classroom of students.

If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more, please contact Leticia Mimila, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP.
